Studies prepare for:

  • taking up work / professions: material engineer, specialist in material characterization, production engineer, employee of the quality control department, constructor, specialist in composite materials
  • acquiring competences / practical skills sought in the labour market: design of machine components and parts, qualitative and quantitative verification of products, components, material treatment, including metals, polymers, composites, optical, spectroscopic and structural characterization

A bachelor’s degree entitles you to:

  • applying for admission: for second-cycle studies
  • continuing post-graduate studies in materials engineering, bioengineering

COURSE CONTENT


Work placements

Compulsory work placements:

  • Professional practices related to the implementation of specialization: 120 hours

Optional work placements:

Traineeships:

  • Possibility of an internship at ML System S.A under a cooperation agreement.
  • Possibility of an internship at Liugong Sp z o.o. based on a cooperation agreement.



Skills acquired by graduates

  • Ability to use engineering programs i.e. CAD
  • Ability to design engineering using computer techniques
  • Ability to perform endurance tests and tests
  • Ability to characterize biomaterials using spectroscopic methods
  • Ability to operate equipment: SEM + EDS, testing machine, DLS, optical microscope, metallography, goniometer, UV-VIS spectrometer
  • Ability to analyse measurement results
  • Ability to work in groups and human resources management

  • Using communication techniques for self-presentation
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to present the results of works using multimedia sources

  • Knowledge of the basics of economic
  • Knowledge of management systems
  • Knowledge of the materials market, including economic aspects of their use

  • Has skills in engineering design using CAD
  • He uses the Microsoft Office suite in an advanced range, with particular emphasis on MS Excel
  • Knows advanced techniques for material characterization (optical and electron microscopy, EDS, DLS. SIMS)
  • Knows and uses spectroscopic techniques to determine the parameters of engineering materials
  • Has the skill in the selection of materials and material design
  • Has the ability to use a mathematical apparatus, theorem proofing technique to solve problems in the field of material engineering (defect analysis, crystal lattices, calculation of boundary stress)

  • knowledge and ability to use the basic techniques necessary to conduct scientific research in the field of materials science, physics in the field of classical mechanics
  • planning and carrying out the processes of growth of selected layers, production of materials, including functional and passivation materials
  • the ability to carry out material characterization using techniques such as SEM, DLS, spectrometer, optical microscope, metallography, strength tests
  • ability to interpret measurement data;
  • ability to perform computer simulations in the design of selected materials and their degradation processes;

Education requirements


Secondary School Diploma and a document confirming your English proficiency at level B2.
